It’s time for the first Call of Duty League LAN of the year, as the CDL is heading back to Boston for Major 1!

Entering the Major, Breaking Point has updated our rankings for the Objective Player of the Year race. Players are ranked based on their performances from the first two weeks of matches looking into Hardpoint Hill Time, SnD plants/defuses, and Control Tiers captured per attacking round. These rankings will surely change post-major, as LAN play will show which teams have the best teamwork, but this piece serves to give great insight into how the season has gone so far!

Storylines to watch

Out of the five players on the Ladder going into Major 1, there is only one SMG player still within the top five. Envoy rocketed up the ladder behind great objective performances after the CDL came back after the holidays. The Ultra secured the second seed going into Major 1 and are one of the favorites to win the event. Watch for Envoy to be an extremely important piece to Toronto’s run, as they look to take home the first championship of Modern Warfare 3.

The Objective Ladder

1) Brandon "Dashy" Otell - OpTic Texas

Team Record: 4-3 Series Record, 14-13 Map Record, 40 CDL Points
Next Match: Thursday, January 25th vs Miami Heretics at 6:00 pm EST

Best Performance of the Qualifier: Dec. 17 vs. Carolina Royal Ravens
OpTic started the year off great, holding a 4-1 record after three weeks of qualifiers. Unfortunately for the Green Wall, the team dropped back-to-back matches against Miami and Atlanta to finish 4-3 with the fifth seed. This was a highly disappointing end to the qualifiers, but all will be forgiven if they achieve favorable LAN results. Dashy played well the entire stage, but his best performance came against the Royal Ravens. In that 3-0 sweep, Dashy had a 1.84 overall KD with a 46-25 stat line. Bruce set the Hardpoint KD (2.30) and SnD KD record (4.00 KD, broken) in the series. He finished map 1 going 23-10 with 133 hill time and 3850 damage. He was at his best, and this is the level that OpTic Texas will need during Major 1.

This signing has transformed the team, as they sit at a perfect 7-0 series record on the year and are favorites heading into Major 1.

Individually, Drazah’s best performance came against Las Vegas after the holiday break. He led the lobby with a 1.52 overall KD, 100.7 series slayer rating, and 10,564 overall damage.
