Thieves sign Kremp & Nastie to starting roster

The LA Thieves have officially parted ways with AR Cameron “Cammy” McKilligan and moved SMG Joseph “JoeDeceives” Romero into the substitute position. To fill out the starting roster, the Thieves have signed Byron “Nastie” Plumridge & Kyle “Kremp” Haworth from the Challengers circuit.

Change was needed in the LA camp after a top-12 performance at Major 1 and a 2-5 series record in the qualifiers. The squad struggled badly in Hardpoint, finishing the first stage with a 1-12 record, and they are currently on a nine-map losing streak. It was the first tournament since the Stage 4 Major in Cold War that the LAT franchise had finished last at a tournament.

Nastie has been in the Pro League most recently with the London Royal Ravens for the Vanguard and Modern Warfare 2 seasons. He ended the MW2 season with a 0.99 overall KD and a 1.04 KD in Hardpoint. He improved drastically over the final stages of the year after being moved into the AR position. It was widely expected that Nastie was going to be a target of CDL franchises in the offseason and during the season. With no CDL starting spot to begin the year, Nastie signed with Team WaR for the Boston Open. The team finished with a disappointing top-12 placing, with Nastie finishing with a 1.06 overall KD and 1.18 Hardpoint KD

Joining Marcus “Afro” Reid on the SMG is Kremp, a top Challengers prospect on Boston Academy last season who was promoted to the starting roster at the end of the season. Boston finished top 12 at both Major 4 and Major 5 with Kremp on the roster, but they still qualified for Champs. The Breach finished top six at Champs to end their inaugural year. Individually, Kremp showed flashes of potential. He led the CDL with a 1.30 KD in Control and ended the year with a 1.06 overall KD. After not signing with a franchise for MW3, Kremp joined FaZe Black for Challengers. The team won the Boston Open, with Kremp leading the way with a 1.15 overall KD for the tournament

The new LA Thieves roster will be back in action in the Major 2 Qualifiers starting on February 18th against OpTic Texas.
