Surge announce Neptune addition
The Vancouver Surge has announced the addition of Travis "Neptune" McCloud to their starting roster.

The talented SMG who has had to work his way back up to the CDL after a rough stint on NYSL and LAG finally has another chance this time with the Vancouver-based team.
Neptune has ripped challengers up this season, with OMIT making himself the number 1 choice among challengers. The Surge did have a decision to make between him and probably the best EU challenger player, Afro, but they felt that, with Neptune competing against better opposition in NA, he was the safer choice. We sat down with OMiT owner Rafi to talk about Neptune & the talent pipeline to the CDL:
Ronnie: What was it like seeing Neptune grow from the start of the year to now?
Rafi: Travis is playing at an elite level. We went through some growing pains with our initial rosters finishing T3 with Merc and T8 with Brack at the start of the year. I think watching him lock in through the roster swaps and finding his groove with teammates that he trusted in Tyler Jay and Noah, I was elated watching him blossom into arguably the best player in the pit right now. Everything from scrims to comms elevated his gameplay and the entire team’s morale.
Ronnie: How does it make you feel when you see all these players from your organization join the CDL and get the chance to live out a dream?
Rafi: It’s really what we do it for. We’re pretty much a G-League to the NBA down in the pit, and it’s really easy to lose passion and get demotivated down here as a player. The system we’ve created, beyond funding them to events, caters to keeping them on their toes and building a winner’s mindset in and out of the game. Eye on the prize every day, trusting your teammates, and knowing you have an org that cares about your success above everything else hopefully leaves them prepared for the next step in their journey. We love getting players poached by CDL teams and seeing them graduate.
