The Call of Duty League returns this weekend on a new patch and with a new map. After the Toronto Ultra won Major 1 in Boston, the competition looks fierce going into the next stage of the season.
Entering the qualifiers for Major 2, Breaking Point has updated our rankings for the SMG Player of the Year race. Players are ranked based on their performances from the first set of qualifiers and the Major. These rankings will continue to change, as the new patch will spice up the competition, but this piece serves to give a great insight into how the season has gone so far!

Storylines to watch
The beginning of the Major 2 Qualifiers sets up multiple top SMG battles over the first two weeks. To start off, the Toronto Ultra faces off against the Minnesota Rokkr. The MVP of Major 1 CleanX will go against the current Rookie of the Year leader in Lynz. This gives the Frenchman a terrific chance to go against one of the best SMGs in the League. Then in week 2, Atlanta FaZe is scheduled to play against the New York Subliners. Reigning League MVP HyDra will face off against Simp, giving up a high-octane slaying matchup. There are numerous other great SMG matchups over the two weeks as well including CleanX & Envoy vs MettalZ & EriKBooM, Shotzzy & Pred vs Lynz & Vivid, and Simp & aBeZy vs MettalZ & EriKBooM. Strap in for a great start to the Major 2 Qualifiers!
