Mayhem Named Head Coach of Gentle Mates for Esports World Cup
As the Esports World Cup approaches, Gentle Mates has officially hired a new coach to prepare for one of the biggest events of the season. The French-based CDL organization has announced formally that Mehran "Mayhem" Anjomshoa will serve as the team’s Head Coach for the Esports World Cup, bringing in a fresh voice just in time for the tournament in Riyadh.
Mayhem, a respected figure in the competitive CoD scene, has had multiple stints as a CDL coach for the Toronto Ultra & LA Guerrillas, showcasing strong skills in player development and getting the most out of players in shifting metas. Past players under this coaching have praised Mayhem as a coach, which should excite the French fanbase. This is the first move by who is reported to be the new manager of the team by RonnieInteL, Veohz.

This coaching transition comes at a critical moment, as Gentle Mates are set to face a stacked Group B that includes Vancouver Surge, 100 Thieves, and Team Orchid. With top-tier talent and international challengers in the pool, having a steady, experienced coaching presence could prove pivotal in tight series and mid-map adjustments due to the new rules.
The Esports World Cup announced earlier this week that coaches will be able to communicate with the team during the matches, a rule that hasn't been in place in Call of Duty for over 8+ years.
The countdown to Riyadh is on, and Gentle Mates now enter with a new edge. Fans can watch the new-look Gentle Mates on July 24th at 9:30 AM EST in their opening match against 100 Thieves!
