JKap expressed wanting to move back to the East Coast to be next to family, highlighting interest in coaching remotely next competitive season. The Thieves require coaches to be located with the team in Los Angeles, which made working with the franchise no longer tenable.
The multiple World Championship winner helped the LA Thieves franchise win three titles since he joined the coaching staff in 2021 during the Thieves' first competitive season in Cold War. Those wins included the Major 4 title in Vanguard, the Major 4 title in Modern Warfare 2, and winning the World Championship during Vanguard. With such a strong resume, JKap will have many suitors going into next season.
For the Thieves, they still have coach Shane “ShAnE” McKerral to head the staff with GM/Analyst Brandon “Novus” Hewitt. It is currently unknown if the franchise is looking to sign another coach to pair with the duo, but with Championship aspirations next season, it's likely the team will look for any improvements to the squad.
