Capsidal Out, Asim in for the Breach

The Boston Breach have parted ways with SMG player Kenyen “Capsidal” Sutton. In his place comes CDL veteran Obaid “Asim” Asim from FaZe Black in the Challengers circuit.

The Breach have had a disappointing start to their Modern Warfare 3 campaign. The roster showed promise in the qualifiers before Major 1, with victories over Miami and Toronto, but the lows outweighed the highs. Boston finished the qualifiers with a 2-5 record and had to start their own Major from the lower bracket. The Breach ultimately fell to the Seattle Surge in their opening match, finishing top 12 at the Boston Major.

After the failure at Major 1, Boston coach Zach “Zed” Denyer implied the roster was going to be sticking together for the next stage of the season. The moving pieces of Rostermania have changed things, though, and with key free agent Asim being available, the Breach decided to make the move.

Asim had been targeted by multiple franchises after winning the Boston Open with FaZe Black and impressing in practices against professional rosters. If Boston did not take action, it was unknown if another opportunity to sign a high-level player would arise again.

The new Boston Breach roster will debut in the Major 2 Qualifiers on February 17th against the Carolina Royal Ravens.
